Modified lens for SONY α7: Olympus Pen D 32mm f1.9 (Half-size)

This is a modified lens specifically for the SONY α7 mount.

The lens is an Olympus Pen D half-frame lens, approximately 60 years old. As shown in the photos, the corners will vignette when used on a full-frame camera. Cropping the corners results in an equivalent of approximately 35mm. On an APS-C size camera, it should not vignette and will be equivalent to about 50mm.

I, myself, am particular about full-frame, but I imagined the overall form if I attached this cute camera's body and f/1.9 lens to the α7. I started the modification, and when I had a usable prototype, I took test shots and enjoyed using it. With that in mind, I created a design, made the necessary parts, and assembled it as mechanically as possible to create a product that could be used for a long time. I repeated test shots, tightening and adjusting as needed, and finished the work.

The listing was ready for test shots in the evening, so I took some photos in the twilight city, expecting the f/1.9 performance. I took pictures of shopfronts and lights inside. The last building is a full-frame shot, cropped to the very edge to remove the vignetting. I am satisfied because the brick mortar is clearly visible. I don't have image stabilization on my camera, but it doesn't seem to be a problem.

* There is a small amount of cloudiness in part of the lens.
* There is some peeling of the plating on the ring.
* This is a used item from over 60 years ago. Please judge the condition based on the photos.
* Includes a lens cap, but no mount cap.
* The plate on the back of the body is made of machined aluminum and painted black with a marker. I used a durable paint, but if it fades, please repair it. I don't have painting skills, and I'm concerned that the paint film from a spray will peel off and get inside the camera. Also, the fit with the camera body is very tight, so there is no space to cover it with other materials. I am looking for a better solution.

The aperture and focus functions can be used as they were before modification.

I like the combination with the camera body, and it's fun to take photos in the twilight with a bright lens.
